1. Purpose of this Policy

This procedure is critical for preventing damage to specific customer vehicles in the wash tunnel. By correctly identifying vehicles that need the top brush retracted, you ensure we maintain the highest standards of safety and service quality. Consistent daily review is mandatory for all team members.

2. Vehicle Identification Categories

Review the following categories. Tap a card for more details. The top brush MUST be retracted for all vehicles in these categories.

Top Brush Retract Vehicles

These vehicles **always** require the top brush to be retracted due to their design or accessories.

Example of a car with a roof rack

Roof Rack

Any vehicle equipped with a roof rack, including those for bikes, kayaks, or cargo carriers.

Example of a car with a roof basket

Roof Basket/Cargo Box

Vehicles with mounted roof baskets or enclosed cargo boxes.

Example of a pickup truck

Pickup Trucks

All pickup trucks, especially those with extended cabs, large mirrors, or dually wheels.

Example of a car with a large antenna

Large Antenna

Vehicles with tall, fixed, or whip antennas that cannot be easily folded or removed.

Example of a G-Wagon or Jeep

90° Windshield Vehicles

Includes vehicles with upright, flat windshields such as Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon and Jeep Wrangler.

Category B Vehicle Example

Category B: Convertibles & Custom

Includes all soft-top convertibles (up or down), vehicles with vinyl roofs, any visible signs of previous damage, or unusual custom bodywork. When in doubt, always retract.
